Marasai Devastator 1/144 HG WIP Part 2
All parts sanded down, putty sealed and sanded, seem lines removed (mostly). I finally decided on a heavy flame-thrower as one of the devastators weapons. Modified from a couple of end-barrels from the FA unicorn, and some smaller parts to plug in the ends (that fitted perfectly I might add) from the Regen Duel Gundam. I also drilled a tiny hole in one of the barrels to add a fuel line, which leads of to a huge (in comparison to the Marasai) fuel tank, made from an old asthma inhaler canister. All propellant removed of course.
Added a base coat to most of the parts, a reveller aqua clear (used in my previous model) to act as a surfacer. Worked lovely. I have decided now on a colour scheme - and its going to look awesome. Something very unique, in fact something I don't think I have ever seen on a gunpla model. Should be fun, and I hope I can pull it off..
The paint scheme requires a white base coat. I was sure I had 3 jars of this but discovered to my dismay that they were all mostly empty.. so I only managed to get one base coat done before I had to call it a day for those parts. I then went on to do the metallics. A little vid below for your visual entertainment if you are bored. :)

Marasai Devastator 1/144 HG WIP Part 1
So many ideas for this one, but not quite got all the parts required as yet, so I made a start by assembling the kit, identifying the required seam and nub removal points, and setting to work with the putty and sanding...
Super thanks to my buddy Skeptical for letting me use his music in this vid. If you have not checked out his music already then do because you should do. :)
Next weekend I will finish off the puttied parts, get it all nice and smooth, add some more panel lines and set about finding parts for the "devastator" element of the Marasai.
Some decisions still to be made on this.. as well as colour scheme. All will become clearer towards the end of the week :)

Marasai Custom
I was perusing my collection of odd crap left over from old kits and chanced across some nifty little bits to create something unique - this will be the 1/144 Marasai Devastator custom!
I may actually attempt.. although its been many, many years to do some sketches of my ideas and share these with you. If I remember. WIPs for the Zeta 2.0 starting soon for the summer war contest.
Later.

1/144 HG Hi-Nu Gundam
A couple of weeks spent on this one on and off. Although I am not entirely happy with the result its still OK. The greys turned out a little too dark for my liking, but the deck tan grey was a nice offset and added a little variety to the model. Panel lining was a little hit-and-miss this time. I am getting better, but a fault in the gloss coat unfortunately resulted in some heavy blotching - especially in the binders. Lessons again learned :)
Some pics: (bizarrely to the side..please tip your head. Thanks blogger!)
